Yoon & Yang advises Industrial Bank of Korea for the establishment of its branch in Cambodia

In October 2018, Industrial Bank of Korea obtained the Final License from the National Bank of Cambodia for the establishment of its Cambodian branch office. This case is meaningful since it is the first case which a Korean bank obtained the license to establish a branch office in Cambodia.
Yoon & Yang LLC has provided comprehensive legal advice to Industrial Bank of Korea on (i) preparing the license application; (ii) amending the internal regulations; and (iii) preparing the business operation, etc. Yoon& Yang further advised on Industrial Bank of Korea’s future businesses in Cambodia, thereby contributing to the establishment of Industrial Bank of Korea’s blueprint in Cambodia. It is expected that Industrial Bank of Korea’s expansion to Cambodia would bring the know-how of Korean Financial Companies on bank loans for small and medium enterprises into Cambodia.
