United States anti-dumping and countervailing measures on large residential washers from Korea

In 2013, US International Trade Commission decided to impose an anti-dumping and countervailing duties on large residential washers exported from Korea. The Korean manufacturers of large residential washers, Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics appealed the decision to World Trade Organization (WTO).
Yoon & Yang LLC currently represents the Korean government in all the procedures for the WTO dispute including the request for consultations, the request for the establishment of a panel, submission of written statements and participation in substantive meetings. This is a high-profile case as it involves “zeroing” which has been a controversial issue among international trade community and as Korea has raised a new issue--“targeted dumping”--that has never been disputed in the WTO.
In addition, the dispute is significant in determining whether Korea's tax benefit policy is in violation of the WTO Agreement.
